Unit Name: Dangerous Goods

Description: The purpose of this course is to provide customs students who are interested in understanding the various risks posed by such items of trade, its handling procedures, documentation needs and general identification. The course will first provide students a thorough grounding in the theories and models of dangerous goods classification. The course will then proceed to develop student?s ability to analyse and interpret situations where cargo with risks needs to be transported via the 3 modes of Air, Sea and Land. Furthermore, the course provides students with the analytical ability to understand some current limitations in local regulations in relation to dangerous goods handling.
