Unit Name: Extension Methodologies & Technology Transfer

Description: This course is designed to provide an advanced knowledge of extension education. The purpose of the course is to familiarize students with various concepts and approaches in agricultural extension and basic theoretical frameworks within which such processes are observed. A special emphasis will be placed on the concepts of Communication in extension services in Fiji. Students will comprehend the theoretical and basic concepts of extension, learn different methods, and gain Communication skills in extension work. Focus is also placed on importance of how appropriate extension methods can be used to transfer technology to targeted groups. This involves the study of different types of audience, planning extension activities and use of major extension approaches.
