Programme Description

This module specifies the competency required to prepare the surface to substrates and safely select and use painting tools and equipment. The unit includes hand tools, power tools, and equipment. Surface preparation to timber, block walls and metals will be incorporated in this module for the participants to understand different methods to prepare surface and tools used to prepare surface. The underpinning knowledge for the use of fillers will enhance participants to achieve higher quality of finish.  At this stage the participants will be given to prepare surface and apply paint by use of brush and rollers to simple projects or simulated projects.

Course Learnings

Prepare work area for paint application processes   
Prepare surface by sanding/ grinding    
Patch holes in different substrates and carry out sanding,    
Apply paint with brush/roller to the surface provided and clean up
