Greetings from PATVET

DNTPC Dr Isimeli TagicakiverataGreetings from Fiji,

2019 brings about renewed optimism for PATVET, as we are now based at the National Training and Productivity Centre HQ in FNU Narere Campus, Fiji. I am pleased to inform all our Pacific Island members that PATVET maintains its official UNESCO-UNEVOC Centre status. I am also pleased to announce that key developments and partnerships have continued to materialise in our region with institutions and private sector organisations working together to move TVET forward. A good example is the new partnership between VIT and FNU which was signed in 2018.

We also appreciate the work of APTC for continuing to raise the standards of TVET quality and qualifications in their centres in our region. As they enter in their third phase of partnership with our Pacific Island countries, they have moved into co-locations with our local institutions and also localisation of some key positions.

Lastly, we are also pleased to announce our new partnership with NPO Fiji, which gives our Pacific Islands partners new access and exposure to Asia Productivity Organisation programs and initiatives. Our friends from the PSC Tonga were invited to Fiji for the Fiji Business Excellence Awards in 2018 and have expressed an interest in pursuing a similar awards program to boost private and public sector productivity in Tonga.

These are some of the updates from our region. We welcome your assistance in getting fresh new information about TVET through our website and email.

Dr Isimeli Tagicakiverata
PATVET President,
Narere, Fiji.
