Automotive Engineering

automotiveThe Department offers TVET Stream programs relating directly to the automotive trade sectors for a diverse range of firms in the private sector. The programs play a very crucial role in the overall efficiency and productivity of any organisation in the automotive industry.

Our programs have been in existence since the inception of this University and the former Training & Productivity Authority of Fiji (TPAF). In line with ever changing Automotive Engineering technology and new techniques in delivery of trade skills programs, NTPC have also been constantly reviewing its programs. This has led to the Technical Training Division becoming the leaders in NTPC in the development of Competency Based Training (CBT) concepts for the Skills Trade sectors.

The programs currently offered by our department comprises of the following: Light Automotive Training, Automotive Electrical & Electronics Training, Heavy Automotive Training, Small Engine Principles Training, Panel Beating Training and Spray Painting Training. In-built into NTPC trade programs is a focused emphasis on practical training and assessments which is a major component of CBT training.

To meet dynamics of the contemporary labor market, the Department also offers evening classes and short courses to suit existing workers in industry and also for new entrants to industry. Apart from regular industry consultation, we also have close contact with the Industry Standard Advisory Council (ISAC).

All NTPC developed programs are taught by NTPC staff with appropriate trade qualification who possesses relevant industrial experience which prove to be very relevant to both industry participants and new entrant participants. We look forward to serving the needs of the industry by providing well qualified and trained office administrators.

Currently headed by Acting Head of Training Mr Sumesh Kumar, this department has fostered working partnerships with employers in your area and will position our contacts and industry experience to help you find a job upon completion. We offer day and in-house courses tailored to your needs and evening courses to accommodate your busy schedules.
