This unit is designed to familiarize students on how to use a word processing package effectively and efficiently. Students are taught the different layouts of business documents. E.g. use default tables; display documents – advertisement, menus and itineraries, key in business letters and select different paper sizes, create envelopes, usage of default tabs and key in a memorandum, meeting documents – notices, agenda and minutes of meetings. It requires the student to apply the knowledge gained to type simple business documents using the correct layouts, incorporating the correction signs and ensuring that copies of documents are mail able.

This unit is designed to familiarize students in creating and producing spreadsheets for general business and personal use. Students are taught Spreadsheet Applications in Excel for windows i.e. Create, Format and Edit Spreadsheets, creating charts, creating formulae, use spreadsheets to solve problems, designing and creating templates, create and modifying spreadsheet database and also to be able to use automating tasks with macros.
The students should be able to apply the knowledge gained to design/create and/or modify a spreadsheet in a given situation.
