About Us
The Fiji National University franchises its programmes locally, regionally and internationally to providers whose curriculums complement existing FNU study programmes. The franchise system was established to provide opportunities to young men and women to enrol in and complete parts of various programmes of study without having to be physically present on campus. It was also a way of supporting rural development by taking technical and vocational training to outlying vocational centres hence eliminating the need for rural students to move to FNU centres and campuses in urban areas to acquire the same training and qualifications. FNU programmes may be franchised only to educational providers registered with the respective Ministry of Education in the Franchise centres (Schools) country of location, and, who will remain registered for the duration of the franchise agreement, OR, to education providers who are registered under a relevant statutory authority in their country of location.

The Franchise Unit
The Fiji National University Franchise Unit falls under the Technical, Vocational, Education and Training Department based on Narere Campus. The Unit was established to maintain adequacy between the Franchise centres (Schools) and Fiji National University. The Unit is required to take up with the University, any concerns that Franchise centres report regarding Franchise programmes. The success of the Franchise Unit is based on the strength of the partnership between all the players. School managers provide adequately maintained infrastructure including training rooms, workshops and/or laboratories, training equipment and tools and facilities to achieve best outcomes. Both the Ministry of Education and Fiji National University maintain the supply of qualified and trained personnel to monitor and support the franchise system.
